Product design questions

How do you design a web app or dashboard?

Start from the decisions and tasks people come in for, not the data available. Put the few numbers that drive those decisions at the top, group the rest by task, show change over time instead of single totals, and make every card lead to an action. Then design the states around it: empty, loading, errors and permissions. Most of my SaaS work is web apps and dashboards: CRMs, hotel ticketing, patient monitoring and satellite imagery tracking.

What should an admin panel include?

The tools the people running the product need every day: lists they can search and filter, records they can open and edit, roles and permissions, an activity log, and the few numbers that show whether things are working. Designed well, it saves the team hours a week; Glimpse’s business dashboard, for example, puts every drop on a map with its details, users and bank accounts one click away.

What does a product designer do?

They shape digital products end to end: deciding what to build, how it works and how it looks, then testing it in prototypes and handing it to developers. That is the work I do on enterprise platforms, web and mobile apps, SaaS dashboards and design systems.

What is an app prototype and when is it worth making?

An app prototype is a clickable model of an app that looks and behaves like the real thing, built before any code. It is worth making to test an idea with users or give developers a clear reference. A focused prototype usually takes days, and most of the products I’ve designed went through one first.

What does an AI UX designer do?

Designs how people work with AI features: how results, confidence and sources are shown, what the AI or an agent does on its own, and how people check, correct or undo it. Most of my projects use AI, from a health monitoring engine to an embedded optimisation agent in a hotel dashboard.
